Necessity of e-Content and Digital Education in ELT During Covid-19 Pandemic Situation

The Covid-19 pandemic has tremendously affected the educational system with the impactful transformation of learning from traditional to instructor-led online training. While earlier, blended learning was practiced, currently only e-learning or digital learning has the zenith place. The educator uses e-content or digital content nowadays and teaches effectively through various multi-media tools which will be converted into various formats before their proper deliverance. E-content and digital education in English Language Teaching (ELT) has become a boon to overcome the Covid situation where students cannot attend the educational institutions in person. Additionally, the students can learn “anywhere, anytime” at their convenience in addition to the continuous assessment of the student. The various types of content created and dispensed through various electronic media ranging from the “old media” of print to online platforms has brought the standards of education to a new level. The paper examines how the development of e-content has mobilized the teaching standards and also analyses the necessity of digital education. The methods of e-content deliverance are learning through doing and investigation or by using themes or by testing and evaluation. The educators become tech-savvy in the rise of the global technological learning. The paper analyses the importance of the development of e-content in teaching and learning in the pandemic era.  The researcher also evaluates how the e-content enhances the digital education.
